So we’ve started OGTs. Now the thing about OGTs is that they’re tests that determine whether or not we graduate, so why are we taking them now? As sophomores. I mean wouldn’t it make more sense to do it as juniors or seniors? That way we don’t have to worry about if we’re graduating until that time comes. But in a way I guess it could make sense because then if you fail you have chances to make it up. However, I’m sticking with the argument that it should be junior or senior year. And then there’s the matter that we have to be at school at regular time and the rest of the school doesn’t have to be there ’til 10:00. I think we, and I’m talking about the sophomores, should be able to leave early after the tests… Either that or they just give the sophomores movie days for the week. All the classes are cut short and we don’t have time learn everything that the teachers want us to know. It’s just an inconvenience to the learning process. And I say that as someone who really cares about learning new things. (Yes I am fully aware at how much of a nerd I made myself seem.)
Now to talk about the tests… Yesterday (Monday March 16, 2009) we took the Reading test. I didn’t particularly think that it was hard, just tiring and a waste of time. I mean I really don’t care about plagiarism machines, people who make statues out of stones, or plants. The only interesting one I read was the one on plagiarism. The other two just seemed really pointless to me. I mean, seriously, the one on the plants was dumb. I didn’t understand what it was talking about! It started to say that plants that aren’t native to your area could be harmful, but then it stopped and went on to tell you the websites that you could find out if your plant was harmful or not. And that made the questions impossible. But it was easy enough because the answers to all the questions were right in front of me. Then today (obviously Tuesday March 17, 2009) we had Math. I was expecting it to be a lot harder because I wasn’t sure if I would remember the stuff that we just reviewed or how the calculators worked. But I got through it. There were a few questions that I was unsure about because I don’t remember learning about it but I’m pretty sure I did fine. The short answers were pretty easy. My favorite, yes I have a favorite question, was the one about the salary raises. I thought that was the easiest question on there. My least favorite was the one about the intersection camera. It was pretty dumb. But overall, I did pretty good. I finished with half an hour left, and I feel really confident about it. Which could be a bad thing, whenever I feel really confident about anything I usually do really bad. I hope I didn’t do bad. I want to get out of my finals. But you know, that’s just my opinion. I techincally don’t know crap.
