Here are the two poems that I have just written
Abandonment


You were supposed to care for me,
Raise me, watch me grow,
Teach me to be a lady.
You were the absent figure
Gone from my life
Dead by your own hand
You were the role model
That never was.  My only
Salvation from the same
Fate as you.  You taught
Me more about life
In your death than anyone
Else could.  You gave me
A path to never follow; a
Life better than imagined.


Untitled Ode
One word, not even uttered,
but messaged through text
One word to send a girl
falling from a world of grace
One word. Worthless
To others
But not even important to you
One phrase “I’m the only one you can get”
Used to destroy a life of confidence
One phrase ripping at my skin
Causing this girl to starve for your attention
One phrase that crushed
My feelings of being free
Like a bird whose wings were clipped
I lost the freedom I had
Once before you came along sending your
Sweet nothings my way.
I lost a part of myself
Once feelings for you became real
It only took that
One comment, breathless and lifeless,
after years of happiness turned torture
One moment to cripple
my heart and destroy what I wanted
One time to cause my worth to disintegrate
Like silk thrown into a fire.
